THE STORY

Sentinel started as a question: why does a desk need three separate devices to tell the time, run a focus block, and notice the air in the room has gone stale? So I built one instrument that does all three, and hides the parts you don't need at any given moment. Twist the knob and press to start a focus session, and the clock disappears: you get a countdown, or just a slow numberless glow, depending on the finish. The one thing you never lose track of is the air. A quiet color element (a jewel, a bar, a ring, a needle) tells you at a glance whether it's time to crack a window, and it only interrupts you for a genuinely bad reading — otherwise it waits for your break. The whole face reads the room's light, too. It dims to match, bright by day and a soft glow at night, and switches off entirely while you sleep if you prefer. Every Sentinel comes from the same core: a precision-printed structural chassis and an ESP32-C6 electronics platform, skinned in real material for whichever finish you choose — walnut burl and brass, stainless steel and canvas Micarta, or hand-laid Micarta and aluminum. I build each one by hand, one at a time, made to order. The three finishes take their looks from Bauhaus, Danish mid-century, and industrial station design. The instrument inside is the same.
