Backer Terms

Back the Build closed to new backers on 16 July 2026. The studio no longer accepts contributions. These terms remain in force for every contribution made before that date: rewards already backed are still being made and sent, and Sections 3 through 7 continue to apply in full. These Backer Terms govern contributions to Luvvo Studio's "Back the Build" crowdfunding campaigns at https://luvvo.studio/back. They supplement our Terms of Service, which apply to your use of the site generally. By backing a campaign, you agree to these terms.

1. What backing is — and what it is not

Backing a campaign is a purchase of a reward (where you select a reward tier) or voluntary support of the studio's tooling (where you contribute without a reward). It funds real equipment that the studio uses to make its work — the campaign page describes what is being funded and why.

Luvvo Studio is a for-profit studio. Backing is not a gift to a charity, and it confers no tax deduction of any kind. Backing is also not an investment, a loan, or an equity interest: you acquire no ownership, profit share, or repayment right of any kind.

2. When you are charged

Your contribution is charged immediately at checkout, processed by Stripe. Campaigns are not all-or-nothing: the studio receives contributions as they are made, whether or not the campaign reaches its goal, and the funded tooling is put to use as the campaign progresses.

3. Rewards and fulfillment

Rewards are described on each campaign's tier list and are fulfilled directly by the studio — there is no intermediary platform. Some tiers are limited in quantity; availability is shown at the time of backing. Where a tier shows an estimated fulfillment window, that window is a good-faith estimate, not a guaranteed date — rewards are made and shipped by one maker, and timelines can shift (see Section 7). We will keep you informed by email of material changes to reward timing.

If you back without selecting a reward tier, or your tier has no physical reward, nothing ships — your backing is support, acknowledged as described in Section 6 if you opt in.

4. Shipping

Physical rewards ship within the United States only. Your shipping address is collected at checkout for reward tiers that ship. If your address changes before your reward ships, email us at chris@luvvo.studio. If a package is returned to us as undeliverable, we will contact you to arrange reshipment; additional shipping charges may apply.

5. Changes, cancellations, and refunds

Because contributions fund tooling immediately and rewards are made to order, contributions are generally not refundable once made, except as follows:

• You may cancel a backing for a full refund within forty-eight (48) hours of making it — email chris@luvvo.studio with your confirmation email.
• If we cancel a campaign or determine that we cannot fulfill your reward, we will refund the contribution attributable to that reward in full.
• If your physical reward arrives defective or damaged, we will repair, replace, or refund it — contact us at chris@luvvo.studio.

Refunds are issued to the original payment method via Stripe.

6. The backer wall

When backing, you may opt in to public recognition on our backer wall. If you opt in, the display name you choose and your reward tier are shown publicly. Your email address, contribution amount, and shipping details are never shown. You may opt out later — or change your display name — by emailing chris@luvvo.studio. Display names that are offensive, misleading, or impersonate others may be removed at our discretion.

7. Risk disclosure

Crowdfunding a workshop is not the same as buying from a warehouse. The campaign funds real tooling, and reward fulfillment depends on that tooling, the studio's build queue, and one maker's hands. Timelines can slip, and specific materials or finishes may need to change for reasons outside our control. Our obligation to you is the good-faith fulfillment of the stated reward: we will communicate honestly and promptly about delays or changes, and where we cannot fulfill a reward, we will refund it as described in Section 5.

8. General

These Backer Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and disputes are resolved as set out in the Dispute Resolution section of our Terms of Service. We may update these Backer Terms from time to time; the version in effect when you back a campaign governs that contribution. If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
